    Married Men

“We’re both married,” I said to you. You blinked in recognition and said “Yeah,” as if I had said “We’re both over 5 feet tall.” Obviously you did not feel that being married was any sort of contingency piece to inhibit you from letting me know you want to be more than friends. I blinked back in confusion and astonishment because you were the second person to come to me with this. I’m not going to act like you never piqued my interest. I’m human. I like attention. Go To Work Wife

In another life I set my alarm early, for 8 am, so I could get up and not rush to get to Crossfit at 9. After my workout, I zoomed home to get lunch ready for my husband by 11:30. My goal was typically to be showered and have my eyebrows drawn on. The afternoon was spent doing chores. Dinner was ready around 6, and Spencer and I hung out for the rest of the evening. Adults have several things going on and usually aren’t all like “Hey, do you want to be best friends?” One of my good friends, Allison, moved to Chicago this year and has been suffering from friendlessness alongside me. One day a girl in Panera gave Allison a cookie she had acquired for free, and at the end of the visit,…
